Caceres from North Augusta Strucked in the Middle of the Road

 On October 29, 2013 at approximately 2121 hours, Richmond County Sheriff’s Deputies answered a call to the Gordon Hwy Bridge (Near the Georgia & South Carolina state line) regarding a traffic accident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. Upon Sheriff’s Deputies arrival, it was learned that the pedestrian (Later identified as Dario Martin Caceres, 32 of North Augusta, SC) was standing in the middle of the Gordon Hwy, according to the Sheriff office report.


The driver of a Chevrolet Impala was traveling across the bridge, when the driver happened upon Caceres. The driver of the Impala related that she failed to see the pedestrian (Caceres) in time as she applied her brakes in an attempt to avoid striking Caceres. The front of the Chevrolet Impala struck Caceres.

Caceres was transported to GRU ER for medical treatment and as of early this morning, Caceres is listed in critical condition.

Caceres has been issued two citations in regards to the traffics accident.
1.       Pedestrian must walk along the Shoulder of the roadway (OCGA 40-6-96C)
2.       Pedestrian under the influence of Alcohol (OCGA 40-6-95)
