There are lots of things happening with Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the CSRA, so here’s a quick Friday wrap-up:
· Our retail employees (some of them pictured above) are holding a daily Halloween costume contest, with “likes” on their photo on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/goodwillworks) serving as votes for daily favorites. The costumed staffers also serve as fun reminders to customers that Goodwill is a great place to shop for Halloween costume ideas.
· Saturday is a big day for Girl Scouts across Georgia as they have an opportunity to earn a patch for Good Turn for Goodwill Day by collecting donations of gently used clothing and household goods from family, friends and neighbors and taking their donations to a local Goodwill donation center. This year’s Good Turn Day also coincides with the nationwide Make a Difference Day, so it’s a wonderful time to promote community service.
· Monday, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and 5:30-6:30 p.m., is Goodwill’s Job Fair Boot Camp at the Aiken Job Connection, 1015 Pine Log Road, providing free job-search advice for those seeking employment the following day, Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 1-4 p.m. during the Aiken Goodwill’s EmployABILITY Career Expo.
We also have exciting news coming soon about the opening of a new Goodwill donation center in west Augusta.
Thanks for all you do to help promote Goodwill’s mission of building lives, families and communities – one career at a time!
