Sexual Assault Awareness Rally

AUGUSTA, GA (PR) - April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Georgia Regents University, in partnership with Paine College, East Georgia State College, and Rape Crisis and Sexual Assault Services, will host the 18th Annual Take Back the Night Rally to increase awareness and promote prevention of sexual violence.

Description:

The event will feature a community information session and candlelight campus march. Guest speakers will include survivors of sexual abuse and assault. Other speakers will be Sheryl B. Jolly, Superior Court Judge; Allison Foley, Associate Professor in GRU’s Department of Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Social Work; Anne Ealick Henry, Director of Rape Crisis & Sexual Assault Services; and Shannon Nix, Counselor and Interpersonal Violence Outreach Coordinator in GRU’s Counseling Center.

Time and location:

6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 24, on the Maxwell Theatre lawn on the Summerville Campus
