6/18/2014 The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and Agents with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, executed 3 drug related search warrants.
The addresses include 26 Thornberry Dr, 3893 Murray St and a storage unit at a local storage facility all of which are located in Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia. During this investigation the following was seized: Approximately 9.25 ounces of black tar heroin, $23,745.00 United States Currency and three vehicles.
At this point three arrests have been made: 31 yoa Avery, Michael Vacaro B/M (Charges: VGCSA Trafficking in Heroin and VGCSA Trafficking Heroin within 1000 feet of a school “Warren Rd Elementary School”), 46 yoa Davis, Jason NMN (Charges: VGCSA Trafficking in Heroin and VGCSA Trafficking Heroin within 1000 feet of a school), 21 yoaHunter, Dexter Carmell Jr B/M (Charges: VGCSA Trafficking in Heroin and VGCSA Trafficking Heroin within 1000 feet of a school). INV./TFO Phillip Hambrick was the lead investigator on this case. Other arrests are pending.
On Friday April 4, 2014 at approximately 07:30 hours, Richmond County Sheriff’s Deputies were conducting police action at the Economy Inn (Located at 3061 Deans Bridge Road room #121 Augusta, GA 30906). During the course of this police action, Sheriff’s Deputies witnessed numerous items, which appeared to be narcotic paraphernalia. Richmond County Sheriff’s Narcotic Investigators were notified and responded accordingly.
Further investigation revealed six precursors for successfully manufacturing methamphetamines. Sheriff’s Investigators seized 1.2 grams of methamphetamines and 3 individual containers of cocaine for a grand total of 2.1 grams. The following suspects have been taken into police custody and charged accordingly:

1 felony count of Manufacturing Methamphetamines
1 felony count of Trafficking Methamphetamines
1 felony count of Possession of Cocaine

This operation was led by Investigator Ty Hester and Investigator Richard Cowell with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

On March 28, 2014, Search Warrants were executed at 2030 Steiner Ave, 1315 Emmett St, and 1442 Swanee Quintet Blvd, all in Augusta Richmond County Georgia. Officers arrested Jerry U. Cullars, Lurline Tutt (B/F, 35yoa, 2030 Steiner Avenue) and Laporsha Williams (B/F, 26yoa, 1315 Emmett Street). Seized from those searches include, 1822.2 grams of Cocaine HCL , 192.2 grams of crack cocaine, an assault rifle, a Glock 9mm which had been reported stolen, along with a vehicle, numerous electronics, jewelry and $17469 in US currency.
