On 11/11/2013 at 6:39 PM the Richmond County Sheriff's Office responded to 2560 Andorra Drive in reference to shots being fired and one person, Delarrion Smith (B/M, 18YOA, 4126 S. Allendale Court, Hephzibah GA), being down. Upon arrival at the scene officers located Delarrion Smith with a gunshot wound to the chest. Delarrion Smith was transported to GRU (Georgia Regents University) for medical treatment where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Through interviews with the witnesses it was learned that Delarrion Smith had come to 2560 Andorra Drive to give Dominique Sullivan (B/M, 19yoa, 3500 block Morgan Road, Hephzibah GA) a ride. Delarrion Smith and Dominique Sullivan were described as being very close friends. Once Dominique Sullivan got into the vehicle with Delarrion Smith, Dominique Sullivan began horse playing with Delarrion Smith.
During the horse play, Delarrion Smith pulled out a handgun and pointed it at Dominique Sullivan in a playful manner. Dominique Sullivan grabbed the gun and removed the magazine then pointed the gun at Delarrion Smith and pulled the trigger believing the handgun was unloaded.
Dominique Sullivan has been charged in relation to this incident with Involuntary Manslaughter, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime and Pointing a Firearm at Another and booked into the Richmond County Jail.
