ATLANTA, GA (PR) - El pasado 23 de octubre del presente, se realizó la primera expedición de las nuevas matrículas consulares de alta seguridad por parte del Departamento de Documentación a Mexicanos. La nueva matrícula consular contiene ahora un chip electrónico, hologramas y diferentes gráficos que la hacen más segura y disminuye su falsificación.
A partir de ahora, su emisión se realiza tanto en el Consulado General de México en Atlanta, así como
en las diferentes sedes del Consulado Sobre Ruedas en los estados de Tennessee, Alabama y Georgia; y su costo continuará en 27.00 dólares por un periodo de 5 años.
Las matrículas emitidas con el modelo previo, seguirán siendo vigentes y cumpliendo con las mismas
funciones hasta su expiración, por lo que no es necesario tramitarlas nuevamente.
Consulado móvil en Dalton
El pasado sábado 25 de octubre, representantes del Consulado General de México en Atlanta realizaron una visita de Consulado Móvil de Registro Civil en las instalaciones de la Oficina de la Coalición de Líderes Latinos en la ciudad de Dalton, Georgia. Durante la jornada, presidida por el Cónsul General Ricardo Cámara y la Cónsul del Departamento de Notaría y Registro Civil, Sofía García, se atendieron a más de 70 familias y se expidieron más de 100 copias de registro de nacimiento de nuevos mexicanos.
Día de los Muertos
Visitors of all ages become immersed in a cultural celebration of family and friends. Visitors of all ages enjoy learning about this ancient festival rooted in Mexican heritage, and several other Latin American countries, that serves as a way to honor and memorialize the lives of their deceased loved ones while celebrating the continuity of life. Smiling faces, swirling brilliant colors, beautifully decorated altars designed to honor lost family and friends, delicious authentic Mexican food, and a variety of traditional music and dance performances are highlights of this celebration.
Special performances include appearances by Ballet Azteca and Alma Mexicana, who perform regional dances of Guerrero, Michoacán, Sinaloa, Chiapas, Jaliscos, Caballo, Tonatzin, and Antigua. A display of altars that honor lost loved ones, demonstrations of the traditional art forms Papel Picado and Calaveras, face painting, and a children’s craft area are among the ongoing activities.
This is a free admission day at the Atlanta History Center, November 2, 12pm to 5pm.
Guests are invited to enjoy the outdoor festival, and if time permits, to continue their free day adventures with a variety of Atlanta History Center offerings from discoveries of signature and traveling exhibitions to historic house experiences and explorations of beautiful gardens and trails. Food and drinks are available for purchase.

Another Venue
Atlanta Day of the Dead features traditional altars created by members of the community, live music and cultural performances, vendor booths offering free product samples, arts and crafts, and authentic Latino foods.
