Prison and Fine for Drone Owners

AUGUSTA, GA - An ordinance to regulate the operation of drones or Unmanned Aircraft Systems passed unanimously in one session of the Augusta Richmond County Commission. There was no input from the public and the second reading was waved also. Violators to the new local law could face a misdemeanor, prison up to sixty days and subject to a fine of not more than $1000.
The no-fly zone imposed by city leaders will last during the Masters tournament of golf. The public servants decided that the safety of the national and international visitors should be guaranteed free of drones, from April 2 to April 13, in Richmond County.
