According to sources, a decade ago District 1 was predominantly white district but the 5 white - 5 black agreement was set anyway. Now that the balance changed and the "whites" are being asked to compromise their vote in favor of a majority "black district is not fair" and the current commissioners districts lines might stay the same for November 2012 elections. 

NO CRIME BUT PUNISHMENT

On the other hand: Don't we need to collect taxes from businesses? Is this the way we suppose to balance the budget, keep services and workers? 

                    

Discussion: Consider probation, suspension or revocation of the Alcohol License and Business License for Ms. Chartara Newman, d/b/a: Club 5150, 2864 Deans Bridge Road, for failure to comply with the Augusta-Richmond County Alcohol Ordinance, and Occupation Tax Ordinance. 

A 26-year-old Ashley Brown, of Idlewild Drive, was found dead in the foyer of Club 5150 in september. Deputies say after the fight started inside, people were being asked to leave, and that's when someone started firing from the parking lot into the building. It's believed Brown was shot through the front door as she was trying to leave.

The Fort Hood shooting was a mass shooting that took place on November 5, 2009, at Fort Hood, the most populous U.S. military installation in the world, located just outside Killeen, Texas. In the course of the shooting, a single gunman killed 13 people and wounded 29 others. It is the worst shooting ever to take place on an American military base.

The base never was closed. Even commissioner J. R. Hatney, who abstained to vote, commented that schools and colleges affected by shootings never were closed after those lethal incidents.
